First Kathodi development scheme
inspired new tribal commissioner
Mr. S. Sethi, who again asked Mr.
Zai (coordinator AVS.) to make an
another development scheme for Kathodi
community. So, AVS again prepared
a development plan coasted 365 lacs.
This plan approved by Govt. of India
but this project will be implemented
by Govt. NGO SWACH in supervision
of AVS as per condition of Mr. Zai
in year 2005, 100 lacs has been
received from govt. and constriction
of 100 houses is in progress. Again
AVS got success in mobilising Govt.
funds for the welfare of a community
who in still living in STONE AGE.
CONCLUSION: In
perspective of above history and
socio-economic condition, we can
mentioned their priorities on behalf
of their views and sentiments as
follows:-
(A) Housing- As
per their culture and tradition,
they need small houses with roof
of earthen tiles having iron doors
and windows.
(B) Health CARE-
Require health care facilities.
(C) RESIDENTIAL SCHOOLS-
Education is now in their priority
but needed residential due to migration
practices. There are only two hostel
of capacity of 105 children, which
are not sufficient.
(D) LAND DEVELOPMENT-
Land is uneven and rocky needed
leveling and nalabunding.
(E) PLOUGHING FACILITIES-
They needed bullocks and tractors
because they have nothing for this
requirement.
(F) SEED & FERTILIZER-
They always needed these proper
time of crop.
(G) IRRIGATION FACILITIES-
Needed open wells, lift schemes,
electric/diesel pumps facilities
to irrigate their fields.
(H) SKILL DEVELOPMENT &
REHABILATION- They require
training in following trades –
• MASONRY (CONSTRUCTION)
• SPINNING- WEAVING INCLUDING
CARPET WEVING.
• REED FURNITURE MAKING.
• BUMBOO WORK
• HERBAL GARDENING
(I) FISHING- There
is big potential and good scope
in fishing work, because they are
fisher from birth. Male and female,
both are naturally skilled in fish
trade but needed technical training
and other necessary facilities and
equipments including tanks on lease.
